Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to ensure safe and reliable transportation for our students. We appreciate your continued cooperation and will provide updates as changes occur.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We would like to provide important clarification regarding daily bus schedules and end-of-day transportation procedures.

Our Transportation Department operates in a highly fluid environment and must continuously adjust to changing conditions. While every effort is made to send notifications and communication blasts, there are occasions when last-minute changes occur and messages cannot be sent in real time.

These situations may include, but are not limited to:

  • A bus failing a required pre-trip inspection and being deemed unsafe to operate

  • Drivers calling out at the last minute, requiring immediate coverage

  • Unscheduled or last-minute athletic events requiring transportation

  • Field trips returning late, which may delay afternoon pickup times

When these situations arise, buses may be delayed or temporarily unable to depart until safe equipment and appropriate staffing are secured. Student safety is always our top priority.

Please be assured that communication does take place on campus. End-of-day announcements are made to inform students which buses are on time, delayed, or not yet in the lineup. Additionally, staff members are present in the bus loop every afternoon to assist students in locating their buses and answering questions.

Students are provided with sufficient time during dismissal to reach their assigned buses, and multiple layers of support are in place to ensure they know where to go before buses depart. For this reason, students should not miss their bus due to confusion or a lack of information.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we manage daily operational changes while ensuring that all buses operate safely and are properly staffed.

Thank you for your continued support.

2025-2026 School Year Bus Information
ROUTES ARE PUBLISHED BELOW
Please be advised that the Transportation Department assigns ALL stops and cannot be changed. Routes for the 2025-2026 school year are finished! All new and adjusted routes are available online and posted below.  Students return August 11th, 2025.  We have added to our routes as much as possible to cover our extensive student population.  We DO NOT make house stops. Students are assigned to one stop and one bus only.  If you require multiple bus stops or prefer a different stop than the one assigned, please call 772-343-7028, ext 248, to speak with the transportation department.  When assigning stops, we consider the number of students in a given area and centralize those stops accordingly.

If you are a  NEW STUDENT  coming to SCPA or SCA for the first time and need transportation services, please submit a transportation request form, linked below.

If you are a  RETURNING STUDENT  and are currently assigned to a bus, you do not need to submit a transportation request unless you've moved and changed your address.

If you want your child to ride an alternate bus home (e.g., to a cousin's home or a friend's house), please notify transportation by email by noon on the day your child will be riding. Failure to do so will result in the driver not allowing the child to ride.  Emails are to be sent to transportation@somersetcollegeprep.orgWhen your email is received and approved, you will receive an email notification, and your child will be issued a bus pass by the transportation department for that day only.
IF YOU ARE SUBMITTING A NEW APPLICATION FOR THE 25-26 SCHOOL YEAR, YOU WILL NEED TO CLICK ON THE LINK BELOW AND SUBMIT A TRANSPORTATION REQUEST.   IF YOU ARE A CURRENT RIDER, YOU DO NOT NEED TO SUBMIT FOR TRANSPORTATION UNLESS YOU'VE MOVED AND YOUR ADDRESS HAS CHANGEDYOUR CHILD IS AUTOMATICALLY ADDED TO NEXT YEAR'S ATTENDANCE SHEET BY DEFAULT.  IF YOU HAVE MOVED AND NEED TO UPDATE YOUR ADDRESS, PLEASE CLICK THE LINK BELOW.

2025 - 2026 BUS RULES

Please remind your student to follow the bus rules, as riding the bus is a privilege, not a right.  Please review this page and the bus rules with your child to ensure they arrive at their assigned stop at least 10 minutes before the scheduled stop time.  Once the bus has closed its doors, turned off its red student lights, and starts rolling, it is not allowed to stop to pick up late students.  Our buses operate on tight schedules, so students should stand out (weather permitting) at the designated stop and be prepared to board as soon as the bus arrives.

2025-2026 BUS ROUTES

Dear Somerset families-

Your child's safety and well-being is our top priority.

All children riding our buses are now required to wear their seatbelt when on the bus, per Florida State Staute 316.6145 (2) “Each passenger on a school bus that is equipped with safety belts or a safety restraint system shall wear a properly adjusted and fastened safety belt at all times while the bus is in operation.”

This rule applies to all Somerset buses used for school sponsored field trips, sporting events, as well as the daily routes.

Any child who chooses not to follow instructions to wear their seat belt while on the bus will have consequences, including detention, suspension from the bus, and/or possible loss of bus privileges.

This rule applies to all students riding our buses that attend Somerset Academy Bethany, Somerset College Prep Academy, and Somerset Career Academy.

Please speak to your students about this. Thank you for your understanding and your support in helping to keep our students safe.

Thank you
