Alejandro Betancourt was born and raised in Puerto Rico.  He lived on the beautiful island during his early childhood years.  He spent his teenage and young adult years in Milwaukee, WI.  Mr. Betancourt began his professional career in IT and project management, then transferred to education in 2007. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Technical Management from DeVry University.

Mr. Betancourt accepted the position of Physical Education instructor at Somerset College Preparatory Academy for the 2017-18 school year. He is very passionate about health and exercise; especially since he battled with obesity for most of his teenage and young adult years.  He wants to teach students how important it is to stay active and healthy to avoid the struggles that he himself had to endure.  Most teachers say that they are training students to have a successful future.  Mr. Betancourt says he is training them to live through that future.
