Teaching is a rewarding career for me because I enjoy being a positive influence on young minds and leaving a lasting impact on students' lives. I'm originally from Cuba, and Spanish is my first language. I received a validated Bachelor's degree in Languages from the University of Miami in 1995. I've been a full-time, professionally certified teacher in Florida for the last twenty five years. The greatest portion of that time, I taught in Miami-Dade County Public Schools. I moved to Port St. Lucie in recent years, where I've continued to work as an educator to this day. This is my fifth year at SCPA, where I was given the opportunity to teach Spanish and to become a member of the Somerset family. I'm very happy to be here, really excited to start what promises to be a successful 2023-2024 school year at Somerset College Preparatory Academy. I will be teaching Spanish 1 this year.
