Teaching is a rewarding career for me because I enjoy being a positive influence on young minds and leaving a lasting impact on students' lives. I'm originally from Cuba, and Spanish is my first language. I received a Bachelor's degree in Languages from the University of Miami in 1995. I've been a full-time, professionally-certified teacher in Florida for the last 28 years. I taught in Miami-Dade County Public Schools for 20 consecutive years until I moved to Port St. Lucie, where I've continued to work as an educator to this day. This will be my 8th year here at SCPA, where I was given the opportunity to teach Spanish and to become a member of the Somerset family. I'm very happy to be here, and I am really excited to start what promises to be a successful 2026-2027 school year at Somerset College Preparatory Academy.
